Match Report
Westbrook Hay Preparatory School Boys-3rd Team vs  Lockers Park School
On: Wednesday, 13 Nov 2019
Venue: Away

On Wednesday, the 3rd team travelled to Lockers Park. Lockers played with two quick, strong strikers and it soon became clear that we would need to defend well if we were going to get a result. Despite an energetic display, we were unable to keep Lockers at bay. The opposition eventually broke the deadlock with a close range finish following a dangerous cross and they went on to find the net again with some well taken goals. Towards the end of the first half however, Ronan Philbin gave us a glimmer of hope when he latched on to an incisive through ball, his powerful shot across the goal beat the keeper and nestled in the bottom corner.

We retained possession much better in the second half and the away support enjoyed watching some neat passes. Ultimately, the opposition were too strong on the day and we couldn't find a way back in to the game. The boys should be really proud of their efforts. At times our defending was too deep and allowed Lockers to play their football in dangerous areas - something to work on next time.

MOM - Jack Robinson for his leadership and resolute defensive display.
